About

Light After Loss

Light After Loss is dedicated to cultivating a community of healing connection for mothers of infant and pregnancy loss.

We advocate for maternal mental wellness, provide financial resources for mothers in need of care, create a platform for stories to be heard, and cultivate support systems of love and connection. We’re changing the culture to remove isolation and judgment and replace it with compassion and light.

Dr. Annette Stephenson, The Island Mama, started Light After Loss to honor the triplet baby girls she lost in 2017 and to create a community for other women like her to receive the care and support needed.

If you’ve experienced pregnancy loss, miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death, we know what you are going through and we are here for you. We honor you and your experience of motherhood.

Mission:

The mission of the Light After Loss Organization is to support the mental wellness of mothers after the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death.

Through our compassion-focused, love-centered approach, we cultivate communities of healing connection. We work to transform the culture to one of safety, empathy, and light. We provide financial resources to help ensure that every mother receives the physical and emotional care that is needed after the loss of a baby. We empower Light After Loss.

Core Values:

We value love. We seek to spread love in every moment and with every action.

We value mothers. We honor mothers and their need for care, connection, resources, and compassion after a loss.
